Alex Andrewman, Director of Operations, and Louise, General Manager of The Halal Guys, shares how Workstream's smart screening helps prevent issues of phone tags. The Halal Guys franchise on-boarded with Workstream 4 months ago and ever since, they have posted 18 positions for hire and had 73 applicants in a week. Workstream has effectively helped The Halal Guys increase their influx of applicants and saved them time in the otherwise time-consuming hiring process.
Currently we have between Northern California and Nevada β 7 stores. Weβre in a growth cycle right now and the biggest thing plaguing the QSR industry for years is finding talent.
Before Workstream, our biggest hiring challenge were not getting enough applicant flow, and then also streamlining the whole on-boarding process, ensuring that all the paperwork for each employee was complete correctly.
One of the three features that Workstream presents, is that there is always the influx of applicants going through the application. It cuts down on time, it streamlines the hiring process.
In the past, people would apply for a job, and you would play phone tag with that person, and you would not have a good idea of what their qualifications were.
With Workstream, we are able to designate a set of pre-interview questions when they apply. As a manager, we uploaded what our availability is. That helps streamline the whole initial process because a potential candidate that looks at our schedule and sets up a meeting based on the time that weβve designated. If we like that candidate, then from within Workstream, we tell it to send the person the new hiring paperwork.
By automating this whole process, weβre saving a lot of time. And then also it creates a way for us to have digital record keeping, which eliminates the need for employee files from within the store.
